| Every Story Ever (ESE) is a list of every comic story ever, ranked from best to worst. It includes everything from single panel comic strips to all 80 issues of Starman, drawn from listener suggestions. It began as the after-interview segment in 2014, based on ranking segments from The Best Show with Tom Scharpling, and in 2015 moved to its own special episodes, thanks to Patreon supporters. Episodes grew to 2 hours in September 2015 after reaching another Patreon goal. In January 2019, Comics Catch-Up specials debuted in which Matt & Chris read (or re-read) comics they couldn't previously rank (or re-rank), sometimes based on listener polls.

| |
|
| The first comics on the list were Batman: Year One at the top, and Identity Crisis at the bottom. While the former moved into second place 2 months later when the story where "Spider-Man does the thing" was ranked, the latter has remained at the bottom of the list due to its negative effects on Detective Comics Comics.
| | Addresses between 123 and 315 are unknown, addresses from 317 to 569 are Internet Cafes. |
|
| |
|
| The list itself is set in stone, and Matt & Chris are merely the arbiters placing every story exactly where it belongs, except that one time when it was gonna be carnage. This can lead to surprising results, as when Jason Latour's Twitter comics about how Ryan North fundamentally misunderstands Elmer Fudd turned out to be better than Grant Morrison's best comic since 2008, or that time in 2017 when Frank Miller was revealed to be the author of the second best and second worst comics of all time, especially strange since one of those books was written and published 20 years after he got on a boat and sailed off into the Bermuda Triangle with John Byrne, never to be seen again.

| | | 572 || Internet Cafe |
| | | |- style="vertical-align:top;" |
| # Make a list of three (3) comics - you may include additional comics, marked as such, in case the arbiters have not read the comics on your list.
| | | 573 |
| # Find the line-stepper password - if you are a Patreon subscriber at the $10 or higher level, include the line-stepper password. Matt regularly sends the password to patrons, but if you can't find it, message Matt on Patreon.
| |
| # Send the list to [mailto:warrocketpodcast@gmail.com warrocketpodcast@gmail.com] - do not send it to Matt in any other way or he won't find it. Include "Every Story Ever" and the line-stepper password, if applicable, in your message.

| | |
| Note: Many of the comics are linked to Amazon. Sometimes that link goes to a hardcover omnibus, sometimes a trade paperback of the first volume - comics publishing is hard. Webcomics are linked to their site, individual comic strips to their publisher's page. For Amazon links, Matt & Chris will get a small kick-back to help keep the lights on and keep paying those gimmicks they keep sending in the mail called bills. Feel free to use those links to help you determine what to buy at your local independent bookseller.
